Rode a Lighting tonight

a friend of mine just picked up a Buell Lightning today so of course i had to take it for a ride. i'm not real big on the looks, but damn is it a nice bike. i only took it for a short ride, so i can't tell you how well it'll hang on when dragging a knee, lol. but just that short ride is making me rethink my shying away from twins. it's got excellent power (although i couldn't get on it too hard since it only has 55 miles on it) and a ton of torque. the suspension is plush, but not too soft and when you start pulling back on that brake lever, you better be ready to come to a halt! my only dislike other than the looks would be that you have about an 1/8 of a turn on the throttle before you get any response, which isn't really a bad thing, i'm just used to having the revs start coming up the instant the grip moves so that kind of threw my shifts off a little. but all in all, it's a very nice bike!

I almost test-rode one last year. I think I'm going to try to get a ride on one.
