Biker Injured on the Beach

Panama City, FL

It happened at the corner of Joan Avenue and Thomas Drive around 9:30 Wednesday night. Panama City Beach police say a man riding a motorcycle was heading west on Thomas Drive when he suddenly lost control and skidded out into the roadside.

Police say he was not wearing a helmet and was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The man has not been identified, but is in his 40s and from Indiana.

Police say the biker may not have realized he was in a turning lane.

why is it so hard for some people to at least wear a damn helmet? i'll never understand the reasoning behind not wearing any gear. anytime i hear about someone not wearing gear it reminds me of the quote, "Sweat wipes off, ROAD RASH DOESN'T."

I think the allure of the females causes guys to ride sans helmet in those areas. I have fallen prey to the same lack of judgement when I lived in Daytona.
