Freedom of Speech thread still locked?

I thought this was a nice clean thread where the issue was being discussed but now no one is allowed to respond. I know that my question about "why mods weren't modding before" definitely wasn't answered and I'm curious as to what path the site admins will take from here. Will mods start stepping up to delete/edit other posts on the site (the spam) that are far more detrimental to the community than opinions based on reason?

There's no point arguing this stuff, there are rules on any board.

I guarantee half the people that have said they're taking their ball and going home will be back in a week.

Below is a note I sent to Todd and his response back to me. I'm sure putting this out here will get me a vacation too. Funny, isn't it. Todd thinks if he avoids it, it will go away. I first IM's Shan about locking it, and told him why I disagreed with the lock, he responded and I understood and respect his decision. As for Todd's response of a thread.............talk about someone trying to force their power around here. It's rediculous and it's gone to his head. Give me a vacation Todd, I don't care. Fact is, I addressed an issue, you said your peace, and then now have threatened that I better not say anymore or you'll give me a vacation. How many vacations you gonna hand out Todd???????????? The downfall of TWF is happening right now as we speak and I'm pointing the finger at you because you've approached this all wrong. I could go on and on for days about how you've approached this all wrong but I'm not wasting anymore of my time or energy on you or TWF. YOUR actions have pushed away a lot of great members and great sources of info because YOU don't know how to approach things correctly and ADMIN this board. You won't address anyone's questions or opinions, instead you just hand out threats. Well, go ahead Todd, hand out my vacation to me because I won't come back here until you address the questions at hand and I'm guessing you'll hide behind your Admin rights and hope this just all goes away.

Re: locked thread

There is no need for you to respond, your questions were answered and the topic is not open for debate. Futher posting on the matter will result in a vacation from the forum. Consider this a friendly warning.

Nope...I won't be back to play. This is BS, the whole thing got out of hand and I blame Todd for the way he handled it. It's not about him banning Twisty anymore, it's about how people want to know why and are asking questions and all he does is avoid it and threaten a "vacation" if we don't shut up.

I'm a mod on a forum, and I'm on a ton of different forums. Granted, I've seen a few go straight down hill b/c of overmoderation. At the same time, calling a mod out in public never does any good, no matter how valid your point is.

Called out or questioned????? Depends on how you look at it. A lot of people asked a lot of questions and they never got answers.

Hes on more then everyone thinks. This just may be your first time seeing him on. Yes he may not be logged on...but he is on and reading the threads. I am not logged on all day any more, however, I am reading and logged on as a guest.

[QUOTE=chev]https://www.twowheelforum.com/showthr...&highlight=TWT

wow a Conspiracy, I love Conspiracies..........let me give my 2 cents on this freedom of speech stuff in forums and the problem here in TWF....the main problem is Shanman...yes our beloved administrator...the problem with him is , he's too nice of a guy.. :nono: we all saw the post that he put in the original post that got twisty banned "wow, you dont pull punches tell us how you really feel" or something to that effect, instead of just deleting the post and telling twisty that forum vender bashing is not welcome here....most of you know the history between twisty and myself (im not gonna bash twist due to him being banned and not able to respond) but it took 4 or 5 battle posts between us before I got a PM to please stop it, I dont know if twist ever got a PM about it but im sure he did......we both should have gotten warnings after the first go around that if it happened again, wed have to find another place to argue.....so if Shanman was more of a jerk, or all the mods were a little quicker to stop the crap right away, this place would be a better place, or an empty one, im still not sure.... for shan

now to everyone thats bitching about the mod not telling whats the reason, it was told..."supporting vendor bashing will not be tolerated" that to me doesnt seem to hard to understand , you may not agree with what was said as bashing but i guess the mod did, and it sure did to me too. If your honest with yourself you will too, the part about the writer joining them and being hard up for money wasnt a well wish imo..
no one here is telling us to buy everything from the supporting vendors or are they telling us to support them in everything they say or do, but they are telling us that bashing them in here is gonna get you a vacation...not too harsh in my opinion.....and i am pretty sure this isnt the first forum vendor that this person has argued with or bashed before and we all know it....

just some 2 cents from the old guy
