Ebay Question

What happens if you don't pay? Will they ban you or what? This guy closed an auction early and I was the winner. He only takes money orders or cashiers checks. i don't feel like sending him money first. Some other auctions he has he accepts paypal but not this one. I wasn't aware he didn't accept paypal until the auction closed early. I e-mailed him to find out about this and he has not replied yet so I'll wait. But I was wondering what would happen if I didn't pay. The bids were for right mid and lower fairing for my bike. Both are in good shape and total cost is $50 and change which is awesome but I'm not sending him money first.

Contact the seller and ask why he won't accept paypal on this particular auction. He can report you to the "Ebay Officials" they can suspend you or terminate your account tho. If they do, all ya gotta do is close the account, re-open with a different email address, and credit card.

Yeah I've contacted him through his personnal e-mail I think like 5 minutes ago. I told him I was deployed and there's no way of getting a money order to him. I'm hoping he'll do paypal now but we'll see. Thanks yo!

Good Luck DL... but most of the time they will put that on your ebay record and he'll give you negative feedback... that's pretty much it! Just tell him it was a oversight on your behalf and as for his forgiveness.... seriously, it's not too bad... it's not like they can really do anything!

Now from a Sellers' stand point.. pay more attention. But in the end be honest with him and tell him that you didn't notice it. If somebody is honest with me, I won't negative feedback them. As long as they complete my ebay request to get final fee credit!

Well here's what happened via e-mail tonight. You have to start at the bottom.
He said--At worst neutral or no feedback

I said--Yeah I assumed you used paypal from reading your feedbacks. I guess
it's my bad on that one. I wish there was something I could do but
can't think of anything. The only thing I can say is sorry to waste
your time. You'll probably get more for it if you put it back on
anyway. Are you going to leave a negative feedback still?

He said--I don't know what else to do. I don't use that account and it should
be closed. I don't know what else to tell you. I put everything on
the auction site about payments. I can only hold it up for 7 days and
then it will be back on the auction block.

Let me know if there is something else.

I said--One more problem. I do not have a VISA card. It's a Mastercard. Bidpay
doesn't accept Mastercard. Is there any way you can make an exception
this one time? I have bought two other items using paypal already and
everything went fine. Your items would be the third and fourth items
I've bought so far. I don't have anyone back home to help me out
No one has access to my money to do it from the states. I'll be back
in June sometime.

He said--I don't accept paypal anymore for any purchases. I have been burned to
the amount of $1000 in overseas purchases. Bidpay is a electronic
money order. You can go to www.bidpay.com they do auctions also.

I said--I'll have to check Western Union but I doubt it. I'm at a bare base
pretty much has nothing. What is bidpay and how do I use it? Why
can't you use paypal?

He said--You can use bidpay or western union also I will need the APO address
zipcode. bidpay accepts credit cards I believe and they will send me

I said--I won some auctions for right fairing, and one for lowerfairing for
R6 4549620893-4549619791. I was wondering why you don'tuse paypal for
these, but on some items you do. I am currently deployed to Iraq and
have noway of getting a money order to you in time but I don't want
negativefeedback. I don't even think I could get a money order over
here. Thanks
I was kind of worried about a negative feedback because if I got one it woul be my first and a bad one. Not all of this was the truth but it got me out of a potential burn. Better safe than sorry. I didn't need the parts, I'd figure they'd be spares. We'll see if he holds up his end about the feedback.

If he closed the action early you can complain to E-Bay.
Read the auction carefully for any loop holes to your benefit.
Unless it states it can be closed early for any reason you may have a point to argue.
I always state I may close auction early if bids reach non specified reserve or because of local sale.
Hope this helps!
Other wise just forget about that account and open a new one.
You will need a different card because E-Bay will link the two accounts with the same card #.

I believe in the T&C it states a seller can choose to close an auction early for any reason. THats the problem with too many eBay buyers. They fail to read the auction carefully and then a situation like this occurs. I have had it happen many times and the excuses get old. bidpay is a reputable auction payment service, backed by eBay. People all get far to paranoid when someone does not accept Paypal. Paypal recently has began to suck when your a verified seller etc, they charge all sorts of BS fees. Yet if you dont verify the account then many people are skepticle about sending payment. I can unserstand why the seller prefers bidpay or MO's or cashiers checks. Next time I woul djust be more careful and read the auction before jumping in and placing a bid and then renegging later. Luck the seller seems reasonable and understanding, in my book negative feedback would be left. But that just because too many think they can bid and then back out later.

I set my E-bay account up with a $500.00 limit card and I didn't do the verify thing. With all these companies out there admitting to losing info or being hacked, I didn't want to take any chances. If someone tries to charge or use that card, it won't buy any big ticket items.

Well in the end it isn't all that bad if he doens't neg you. If he leaves you a nuetral just add a reply to it...saying you were deployed and couldn't do anything..
