What's your opinion??

So tonight I went out riding for a little bit. When I stopped for a short break, a couple of guys pulled up on bikes. One on an RVT and the other on an R6. The guy on the R6 asked how I like my R6, said I love it but I can't wait to step up to a litre bike.

So the kid continues to tell me that he traded his R1 in for the R6 cause he races. I asked why trade it in and not just race the litre bike? He said that the R1 is not a good race bike and that the R6 is better. He then went on to tell me that you can modify the R6 much more than you can the R1.

I was like um... ing my head the entire time. I didn't want to start anything so I just ended that conversation when they left to go into the stores.

What's your opinions on this one?

**BESIDES THE FACT THAT THE GUY IS A SQUIDTARD**

The 600's are allowed more motor mods than the 1000's I believe, but I wouldn't go as far as saying the R1 is no good for racing. Im sure somebody with more racing experience will chime in.

I had rather race a 600 than a 1000!
He probably traded to get in the class he wanted to race!

Twisty's input would be better here so I'll remain quite. He races a R6!

all depends on the track more than the bike in my opinion, we use to race 1100's at old and new loudon (nhis) and it was a workout...too tight but it was fun screaming down the straights on the big litre bikes...now at bridgehampton on long island (3.1 mile track) the big bikes were great and the 600's were boring on that track.....

an R1 on a long track with fast sweepers would be fine but when you really come right down to it though, the lap times from the 600's and the 1000's are not that different on most tracks, again loudon is a great example of that....and in my days, the big bikes were BIG BIKES, not like now where a gsxr1000 is probably as light and handle better than my old 600

Well, the only thing that I can think of is that he did want to be in the 600 class. Man, we don't call it 600 SuperCrash for nothing... There are some SLOW and HORRIBLY riders racing in the 600 class. At least racing a 600 he probably wouldn't come in dead last. I am not a fast rider. Mainly because I just love the corners, even on the track, and am too lazy to shift down the straight so I just park it in 3rd or 4th and take it to red line. I could still beat half the guys in the 600 class with my lap times... There's no way I'd race 600 though. Too many little squiddies who think they're the next #69. 'Tards...

Bridgehampton Race Track, I used to go there all the time. I used to live on Long Island in NY. I love that place, so want to go back there. The people are great, food is great. A little expensive to live there though but that's ok.

bridgehampton was an awesome track,,,unfortunately the locals (very rich locals) since its right in the Hamptons, won out and now the track is a golf course ...it was one fast track though

Yeah, I know. I hate them. I can't stand them cause they want all their "peace and quiet". They want that, move to Maine! Long Island is getting so populated now that they are going to like want a fence put up around the South fork end that like cuts the Hamptons through Montauk off from everyone else! You should see the traffic lately to get out there to do construction, it's insane. I used to have to leave at like 5am just to get to work at 730am and I only lived like 30minutes away from the Hamptons.!
