Rider/Boyfriend Down 05/28/05

On Friday around noon my boyfriend went down on his 05 Gixxer 1000 in Mrytle Beach SC with no helmet on.

They were on their way back from the beach and headed towards the hotel. They were about a block away when all of a sudden he fell off his bike. They could figure out why he fell. He is a very good rider and has been for 15 years. Expectaters say that it looked like he fainted and fell off the bike head first. He slid about 20 ft face first into a curb.

I got the call as I was loading up bikes to go to the gap. I jumped into the truck and headed straight down there. 5 hour drive with one of my girlfriends. When I got there it was 11:00pm and they were putting him to sleep and they were only letting faimly come in.

I got in the next morning by saying I was his Fiance. He looked terrible. He fractured his neck and broke his wrist. They did 2 brain surgeries on his head. His head was cut off to allow swelling. His whole left side of his face is road rashed up. They came to the conclusion that at the first impact to the ground he was knocked out before hand because he has no road rash on his palms or the inside of his arms or out.

So at this point I am at home still waiting on an update on him.

Please send out preyers to him and his family

Thanks guys

The only update I have so far is that the swelling on his face has come down but now he is pitching a fever at 104.

Doctors still havent determined anything yet.

Hope everything works out. What on earth was he doing riding w/o a lid?

Not that there is an answer to that. Just one of those things you cant help but wonder.
