Man Riding Lawn Mower At 3 A.M. Gets DUI Charge

DELHI TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A man riding a lawn mower down the street at 3 a.m. has been charged with DUI, Cincinnati TV station WLWT reported.

Joseph Mundy told police he got the munchies, so he started out toward the Delhi Kroger store. He was riding down the street in the dark when an officer stopped him.

"He didn't have headlights, of course, and the officer almost hit him, and he thought it was stolen," said Delhi Township Cpl. Joe Macaluso. "But he ruled that out real quickly, and he realized the munchies got the best of him."

The officer called a tow truck for the mower.

"This is the most bizarre call I've ever had," said Joe Elliott, of Schaffer's Towing. "It was something you'd see on 'COPS,' but not something you go out and do."

This was Mundy's first DUI.

He could be sentenced to three days in jail.

That's funny....and I totally can believe it. No joke, I almost got busted on a public road on my mountain bike after 1 too many....many many years ago. I was like 16 or 17. True story. A bunch of us were screwing around and had been partying. It happens. We didn't get busted though.

WHile at Michigan State I got pulled over riding my mountain Bike home from the bar. I was actually chasing one of my roomates down the street we were riding in the middle turn lane. The nice officer placed me in the car, bike in the trunk and I got free taxi home! Apparently they feared I was a danger to myself riding a bicycle.

lol last time i got drunk and rode a bike was last summer, lets just say it dont work too well. i tried to do a wheelie, (once back in the day i could ride one forever) well it lasted about 2 seconds and then i hit the pavement and got all rashed up. but i was too drunk to care so i washed it off with some beer. lol same night i tried to jump a fence and got to the top and ended up with a hole in my leg from the tops of the fence. washed that off with beer too. lol beer has many uses.
