Can Someone Explain This to Me?

Ok, I've seen this a lot the past couple of days and I just personally do not get it! Can someone give me a clue as to the answer?!?

What is the purpose of riding a sportbike with a protective jacket if the rest of your body has on shorts and tennis shoes? What, when you fall, your legs don't touch the ground, just your upper body???? Why even bother with a jacket?

Any thoughts?

Kind of like riding with Helmet and gloves but no other protection? Careful, some Squids here may take offense. LOL

This has a lot to do with the laziness in the people. The process in starting of each ride is rather "time consuming" compared to driving a car. Instead of grabbing the keys, hop into the car, and driving away; the process for me in very different in preparing to ride away in a bike. I'd have to push my heavy bike out of the garage, put on helmet, jacket, gloves, etc. and usually let the bike warm up a little. These extra steps can make riders feel a sense of unnecessary hassle as opposed to the freedom provided when we're out riding. Since my commutes are relatively short each day (less than 30min each trip), the process of preparing for the ride gets tiresome very quick. I'm constantly tempted to not spent the extra few minutes to put on my leg armor or strap into my Sidi boots instead of slip into my sneak in 2 sec and leave. In the end, I remember all the rash pictures I've seen online and "dreadfully" put on my gears.

The bottom line is that people are always in a rush for various purposes (or for no reason at all). They're either too lazy or feels that they do not have another 5 minutes to put on all the gears and do a quick inspection on their bike before riding out. We loves to learn by mistake but I just hope that I don't learn it the hard way myself...

Very well put, Jack. If I'm in a hurry, I just get in the car and go.

Exactly. Like last night for me. Needed to run to the store and thought about riding but was feeling lazy so I just hoped in the cage. Not going to go without gear because I'm feeling lazy so just got in the car. If I'm going to ride, I'l going to spend the extra couple of minute to protect myself incase something happens.

Yes Laura, it's in the "Laws of Squidtard Physics"...

It states, when wearing protective jackets, gloves and a helmet, bodies in motion on a motorcycle will reverse the natural laws of physics the rest of the human world rely on and your upper body will hit the ground and leave your lower body hanging in the air, leaving the lower portion of your body to go unscathed!

You race and you've never heard of that! Just kidding, kidding around. Laugh cause I am...

But see, people must also remember that not everyone has the money to go out and buy full leathers, boots and leather gloves right away after they buy their bike.

EarlZach you are ONE DUMB **** TARD!!! Are yuo that freekin dumb that you did not understand the post. I have said before I ride in jeans since I do not own full leathers. Realize in that picture I am wearing a jacket (even thought that day was like 95 out). However your probably too **** in stupid to understand anything that has been said.
Think you stated you were not looking for problems, yet obviously you are jack ass! So let me congratulate you with the award of the day.

Boots, gloves, and helmet. Gauntlet style gloves look pretty damn funny with a GI Joe t-shirt

Ok, so ACE says, "Careful, some Squids here may take offense. LOL" Earlzach takes that as a personal shot and posts a shot of Ace. Ace gets upset and starts flaming Earlzach.

Observation 1: Whether innuendo or not, I don't perceive Ace's comment as directed toward anyone in particular.

Observation 2: In response to a Ace's photo on the internet, Ace fires back.

Assumptions are made and the next thing you know I've got to hand out discipline. Funny thing is, in all of this I'll wind up being the bad guy.

Earl - Realize that when a comment is made about a squid, it's not necessarily directed toward you. If it is, posting a pic of Ace is only calling him out inviting a flame war.

Ace - I realize you're upset with this, but what you said and the way you said is absolutely not allowed. If you're upset, don't me involved by posting and making it worse on everyone.

Consider this a warning to both of you - one that every member can see. Don't expect leniency next time.

Its pretty simple how to "squash" the issue. However I dont have the "Power" to do so, so yes, your dragged into this one. SImple request answered and its DONE! So what is it?
