Sheriff Gives Away Confiscated All-Star Tickets
DETROIT -- Investigators hunting down All-Star ticket scalpers shopped for tickets on eBay and seized nearly 50 to All-Star events when sellers agreed to meet for a sale.
Some of the tickets were priced at four or five times their face value.
Wayne County Sheriff Warren Evans gave some of the tickets to a young boy who helped clear an apartment building during a fire and a service man who recently returned from Iraq.
Evans also planned to walk around the John Hancock All-Star FanFest on Monday, giving away 18 game tickets and 20 for tonight's Home Run Derby in Comerica Park.
