Where'd HE come from?

I was looking at some of my posts early this morning, and realized I'm probably coming off as sounding like some kind of asshat know-it-all. My apologies to all if I've done so. I've been on this board for a while, but have been an active member only of another. With the recent cruddy weather, I've found myself with a little more time on my hands...sooooo, here I am. I like this board and the way that it's structured, I know some of the folks here from other boards and am attracted to the diverse membership.

So, Who is this Guy?

I'm older than alot of the folks here (50) and I've ridden street, dirt, and track since I was 16. I have several 100K under the saddle, and learn stuff from new and old riders alike every time I ride. My last accident was a high speed front wheel washout in the rain in 1980, and I'd like to keep it that way.

I'm not the fastest rider you'll find...I'd prefer to get to be the oldest, but I can still hold my own in the twisties.

I currently own an '89 1100 Katana (project bike), a '72 TS250, an '02 ZX750R, and an ST2 Duc. A couple of the bikes will go this spring, as I'm working on a deal for my dream bike (more later if it works out).

I like riding, reading about riding, talking about riding, wrenching and writing about riding just about more that anything else I've ever done. I have some strongly held opinions, based on training, experience and especially about rider safety and survival, and I'm not afraid to voice them, 'cause I've lost some friends to ignorance and/or lack of training. If I offend anybody, I'll apologize now, but ignorance and poor riding skills kill more riders than anything.

I'm no "expert" on anything, except mebbe food but I have a lot of diverse experiences, in work and in play.

I can be overbearing at times...I try to keep up my character flaws in check, but I've been known to "beat a dead horse". I am, however, "teachable". Once I get my ego in check, I will acknowledge when I'm wrong, and promptly admit it.

I look forward to chatting with you all, and riding with as many as I can!

Do original re-runs count? Some of these guys make me feel like I'm 50+ sometimes. We all try to enjoy our time here. If I haven't already said so oldetymebiker, and keep up the good ing.
