New Yorks Finest

Isn't it like the NYT system to shut down on the biggest holiday of the year?! I feel for those poor saps that have to foot it, or better yet, pay cab fair.

I find it ironic that the MTA has a surplus of 1 BILLION dollars in the bank, but say they can't afford raises...

Yeah that sucks....just shows they dont give a dam about the customers. What if the customers were to boycott using mass transit system...now that would be funny

Ever hear of Rosa Parks? She just died this year. In 1955, she wouldn't give up her seat and move to the back of the segregated bus where the black people rode. She was arrested and all the black people boycotted the busses for a year, under the leadership of Martin Luther King. The city of Montgomery finally relented and integrated the busses, and the civil rights movement started.

If the new yorkers were to do it....it would be a nice reminder to all businesses that the customers needs is the ultimate bottom line.

the "Customer first movement": a movement to remind all big biz out there who have lost the focus on customers needs, of how powerfull the customers are.

This is crazy but remember where it is. It takes most of these people two weeks of pay or more just for rent and they still have normal utilities and other bills too.

I understand why the transit workers are looking for more money and respect...There are neighborhoods in NYC where you can't get a cab because they won't go in...there are neighborhoods where the fire fighters and Paramedics won't take calls unless they get a police escort because they say it is too dangerous...And yet...the buses run every day...

Would you take a job as a bus driver in Harlem?

Yeah they said that its brought New Yorkers together...

The state said that you couldn't drive into the city unless there was 4 people in the car. They had check points on the bridges and tunnels. So people driving cars were picking up complete strangers so they could get thru the check points!

That's a good thing. Make the commute more interesting but, knowing the city. I bet after they got past checkpoints. They booted the strange passenger.

Yeah, but Gas, you can LANE SPLIT!!!! I LOVED riding my bro's BMW around NYC... It was amazing how tight of spaces you could fit that big ol boxer engine through And you'll think you are hot stuff, splittin everywhere and gettin through quickly, then a courier on a 250 or something will fly by you like you were goin the opposite direction and make ya feel silly

Yeah I know what you mean. If you don't have a bike in NYC its best to just hop in a cab or car service, let them drive, much less stress

Is that $ earmarked for infrastructure upgrades or what? Where did you hear this?
