It WAS Hockey Season

The NHL CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement) expires at midnight. Looks like no NHL hockey for 2004-2005 season.

baseball,basketball,hockey..nobody can ever agree on anything....these people need to take a lesson from the NFL, I can count on 1 finger the number of lockouts/strikes the NFL has had in the last 30 years.

That really blows, sorry for all you hockey fans out there...because it is the fans that suffer the most in all this.

Everytime you turn around a damn union is putting people on strike. Usually over something retarded. More power to those that enjoy them, and I'm sorry for them that their companies don't treat their employees better.

on bad companies
on alot of the unions
on the unions for all those poor people on strike that can't afford to be

to those nice companies that make life easier!!

That's it, I'm losing my train of thought....you get the jist...

SHAN, fix the "puke" guy and :p mess up.

The :p guy needs another ":" behind the "p" so it doesn't mess up the puke guy!

yeah..and if a union is supposed to be all that and a bag of chips..how in the hell is strike pay gonna be an average of $50.00 per week.

I think unions do alot of good, and there are good ones out there, but way too many greedy, power hungry ones out there too.

Actually, we didn't have a puke guy until yesterday when I added him. I just forgot to edit the "p" one too. It's fixed.

I used to be a fan...

I am done with hockey - they can all go f*ck themselves.. Just like baseball I am done. I will not watch, I will not go to games, I will not acknowledge its existence. I am fed up with pro sports athletes and player's unions and all the bull****. Put one of these guys in any of our jobs making the $ we make and they would cry to mamma for buttermilk.

Yeah Gasman, Unions ARE great! NOT! Hmm.. Wonder why cars costs so much? Wonder why the economy sucks because it costs 10,000,000 times as much to make or do anything here? Thank the unions. Shop rate in the United States - $55.00 per hour. Shop rate in Mexico - $0.55 per hour. Shop rate in China - $0.23 per hour. Yeah we can be competive - NOT! Oh yeah thanks to the Union for the f*cking guy sitting at Buick City making $22.50 per hour selling pop and chips in the cafeteria. Thanks to the Union for the thousands of workers making $20+ per hour that drink twice their body weight in beer at lunch and are complete slobs for most of the day. Thanks to the Union for the thousands of skilled trades that get paid double time for 8 hours that only work 1-2 hours of the shift. Unions are almost as good as the Democratic Giving My Money to Make More Crack Babies Party. Don't like my strong fact filled opinion? Tough, the truth hurts. If you are pro-union or pro-democrat feel free to enlighten me on why I am wrong.

As far the the NHL Player's Union - Yeah real nice. I am not sure what they were doing but last year they went after Paul Kariya for taking a major pay cut - same thing with Selanne, oh and let's not forget Dominik Hasek - he couldn't play for most of the season so he refused his paycheck to the tune of $3.3 million - the player's union was furious! What a f*cking joke. I hope these stuffed shirt bloated bastards never play hockey again and they all have to :gasp: get real jobs. I am tired of playing their salaries.

Meanwhile behind the facade of the United Sheep of America while the pro athletes and celebrities make millions off us sheep we toil in the trenches and make it happen for this great country of ours for a mere pittance. Yeah that sounds about right! NOT x infinity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will be supporting the true hockey players of today as I go watch my local IHL team - some guys like me not making **** for money trying to make a living.

Ok, dont hold back mudpuppy..tell us how you really feel!! ..but seriously, you do make some valid points, I'll give you that!

I dont have a problem with unions that are willing to work the companies and their members to get a suitable working environments, pay, benefits, etc. There are plenty of companies who try to screw their employees over. But again, the majority overshadows the minority when it comes to unions. All the bad ones seem to make people forget about the good ones that are out there.

Amen Brutha! I'm anxious to see the Huntsville Havoc take to the ice this year. Show me any NHL team in any NHL arena where you can park, buy tickets and get food for under $40.

I don't have a problem with the valid unions either that uphold us little people's rights - too bad I don't know any of those.. I am all for the ideal that started the unions back in the day - when the industrial revolution started because companies and sport team owners were majorly screwing over the little people but today is a whole new era and the worm has turned. Unfortunately it is again the little people getting screwed, as always.

Go Whalers!
