getting a title on an untitled bike?

I am considering buying a stunt bike from a friend of mine that bought it from some other guy. The deal is there is no title. There never has been a title. All he's got is the origin from the manufacturer. Which is the paper that comes with the bike from the dealer that you take to the DMV to get a title. So my question is how do I / can I get it titled?

When I wake up in the morning I piss excellence.

Usually you'll have to have the bike inspected by the DMV or local sheriff's office and they'll tell you how to proceed

Yeah thats the way it is around here. You have to have it completely inspected then send off to have a new title made. I think its quite costly but I don't remember for sure.

First have the local law do a search to make sure the bike is clean. Be careful if the bike belongs to a close friend. If it comes back stolen. The cops will want all info they can get from you.

All lights and other safety switches and stuff must be on the bike and work. Then you need a title application from the DMV. The whole ordeal could take several trips to the DMV and weeks of time. You would be better of buying a bike already registered.

Are you buying it for "stunt only"? If so, just run the VIN too ensure it's not stolen. You don't have to have it titled, registered, and insured if it's for stunting, just don't ride it on the street. Truck it or trailer it to your stunt spots or shows, otherwise you'll have go through what has already been suggested.
