Can't let go

Any of you have something that for some reason you just can't let go of? I have a 1994 camaro Z28 that I absolutly LOVE. She was my first real car and I nearly starved to death trying to keep up with the payments. Then once I owened it I started the mods. I had a decent amount into her and then the unthinkable happened. she was stolen. Who ever stole her beat her, broke her, and pretty much just destroyed her. She was sooooo perfect before and now shes a peice of junk. The insurance co. pretty much stuck it to me and I got like 2K for the damage which when I had it priced out was in the 6 to 7 thousand range. Heres some before pics (if I can figure out how to do this)http://s50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...-6-2900002.jpg
http://s50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...-6-2900000.jpg
and heres some after pics.

I don't know if that worked or not but I can try again if it didn't. The windsheild was also completely smashed, and the hood was destroyed when I got it back but I fixed those the first day so I could drive it if I had to. I don't have any idea whats with the white paint, but its EVERYWHERE in the car. theres cig burns all over, they stole EVERYTHING, Stereo, my new lid that was in the back, all the loose change, even the rear view mirror. I can't even list the number of things they just destroyed simply for the fun of it.
Anyway, she is now pretty much worthless as far as selling it goes but I realized the other day that I couldn't sell her anyway. I dont know why Im so attached to this car. I also have a 1998 Z and I would sell it way sooner than I would sell the 94. I don't know why. I plan to someday put her all back together but in the mean time I will just drown my sorrow in my bike. anyone else have something they just couldn't part with even though to the rest of the world its not worth much?

P.S. in the before pics the rims are black because we were headed to the dragstrip and I had my drag tires mounted on the black rims. In the after pics the rims are black because once they discovered they couldn't get my chrome c5 rims off they just beat the hell out of them and the blacks were the only way I could drive it around.

That was a nice Camaro. I am (will be) going through the same thing. My wife is planning on buying a new car and I'll be driving her current ride (01 Taurus). I currently drive a 89 Caprice, my second one, and can't decide what I want to do with it. I am partial too big body cars and I want to keep it to make upgrades and restore it (project car). I also want a pick-up so I considered selling both Caprice and the Taurus. The wife actually encouraged me too keep the Caprice and make the upgrades (ie. engine, trans, re-built front suspension, paint, etc..). Decisions, decisions......

That sucks man! Don't know what to tell you.

But you got off lucky... I know it don't feel like it but you did. A guy I know had his Honda EK Civic stole and the cops found it a few week later. EVERYTHING was gone! airbags, stereo, seats, doors, hood, motor, front & rear suspension, wheels, brakes, glass... I mean everything but shell.... it was down right disturbing!!

Yup. But you know you stole something before. Maybe not a car but... The bad thing is that they found the car. They're not only theives, but vandals too. Cocksuckers!

I got lucky once and got a bike back with very little damage. I lost a Jeep and hope to never see it again.

I have bought things back because of sentimental value but usually end up selling later with no regrets.

Well they never found the people who stole it. Everyone always says "yeah you hate cops till ya need one then you love them" well Ive needed them ONE time my whole life and they didn't do ANYTHING. I never heard anything from the cops. I had to call them to find anything out. I called them three days after they were suppose to go look at the car. Then they told me they lifted three sets of prints but they wouldn't run them through the computer to find any matches. The cops told me "this isn't foresic files son" Then I got a call from a Walmart saying someone had tried to use one of my checks (that they stole out of the car) and I had to call the cops an tell them. they said perhaps there would be video footage of them at walmart so they would go look at it. I had to call them back 4 days later to find out what they found, and they told me that WalMart didn't have their cameras on that day. but the cops never bothered to keep me updated on the case. So they may actually have caught them by now but I have no idea. Anyway, the only reason they didn't take EVERYTHING was because it ran out of gas on the highway. thats the only thing that makes me feel better is thinking how they must have felt in a stolen car when it ran out of gas on the highway. We put in a new fuel pump a while back and slightly bend the float stem so the gas gage didn't read quite right. But the did manage to get ALL my stereo equiptment about 2500 bucks, and all the little things i had done on the inside, shifter knob, etc. They even took the rearview mirror?????

P.S. Im surprised there was no comments on the girls on the car I expected at least a little

What is wrong with people? Losers that destroy other people's stuff just because they can't afford something that nice should be beaten. Jealous pricks.
