Ron Patricks Jet Powered VW Bug

This guy is just some millionare that owns a company that sells stuff to the automakers for FI. He lives here in Michigan. This was a car project that he did... got a good deal on the jet for just under $100,000. It idles on like 13,000RPM and runs wide open at 26,000RPM. The car can run off the normal motor in the front and use the jet for some "extra kick".

The car has been at the AutoRama here in Detroit.

Here's a vid of the car and its jet.

I want one for my truck... I think it would keep the tailgaters away!!!

The next thing on his list of crazy things to do is he's buying a missle from some busted eastern european country... then he's going to put a silo in his front yard...

But....he didn't go anywhere! Kinda like that 18 wheeler with the jet engine on it. Just for show, doesn't even race. RACE THAT THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Flames out of the back of a VW don't impress me. 170MPH out of a VW impresses me (especially with flames ). He might as well have saved money on the car and just mounted that thing to the ground and roasted chicken with it.

Perfect waste of a good killing machine.

I'd like to see a cop even try to pull up behind that thing to get the plate number (if it even still has a plate)!!!

with that jet on it, probably 1000 miles on a tank of fuel. but you'd burn through that fuel in a second or two easy.

life is but a way of killing time until you die. why care how you live, just have fun while you can.
