Are you a supporting member?

Supporting Member Program

We would like to thank all of the members of TwoWheelForum who have helped us grow to become a fun and informative sportbike community over the last year. We've been growing steadily since we started in June of 2004. It took us under 12 months to reach 1,000 members, and our current growth rate sees our membership doubling or even tripling in much less time. We're over 4 million hits per month, and our bandwidth usage is growing exponentially as people find us on search engines, referrals and other methods.

This level of activity is a blast. Whether you need a tech question answered, need advice as a new rider, or you want to talk about anything else in Off Topic, you are going to get an answer quickly.

In order to stay on top of things, and remain one of the best sportbike discussion sites on the internet, we must constantly upgrade. The software we use that "is" the site, has frequent releases. Some of the newer components to the site, such as the home page, are not built into the packaged software and are an addition item. Our photo gallery software is another example of an add-on that enhances the site and allows our members to post photos of their rides. Unfortunately these upgrades and add-ons are not free.

We have aggressive plans this year to continue to improve the site functionality and performance. There are many things we would like offer our members, near-term and down the road.

We have managed to keep the site free to the members for the last year. We are still going to do so. The Supporting Member program is a completely voluntary way to contribute to the site and get a few extra perks for doing so. If money is tight or you would just rather not contribute financially you are encouraged and more than welcome to continue as you do today.

We have moved all existing members into a new usergroup. It is for the first 1000 members only. If you are a member right now you are a member of this group. With this new usergroup you can store up to 500 private messages instead of the prior 50. Everything else remains the same. This is our thanks to the original members of the site who are making it a fun and growing resource.

Members signing up after this point will not have all of the same features that the First 1000 crew has. We've learned that there are a few very bandwidth intensive features that really should be reserved for those that chip in for them. These include post attachments, gallery uploads and large avatars. The Supporting Member program is for new members who want to get these features. The first 1000 crew gets them for free and always will.

The perks are outlined in the table below. The Lifetime Member and Lifetime Gold plans are just that. As long as you and TwoWheelForum are around you will retain your status. It is a one time payment.

The following graphic will be applied to:

If you choose to become a Supporting Member it is very easy to do so. You can choose to pay with a credit card via paypal or you can just send us a check. To contribute via paypal go into your User CP from the top menu of the forums. Scroll down until you see Paid Subscriptions in the left side menu. Choose the plan you would like and follow the prompts.

To pay by check please make it out to TwoWheelforum. Be sure to put your username on the check! Send it to:

The legal stuff - While we will do our best to continue to operate TwoWheelforum.com there is no guarantee of continued service. Supporting Members must follow all forum rules just as non-supporting members. Supporting Member status does not grant any special consideration when member banning is considered due to breaking forum rules. Refunds will not be granted to Supporting Members who are banned for breaking forum rules.

Obviously, there's no obligation to pay to enjoy TWF. However, since we've had so many new members sign up, I thought I bring bring this back up for everyone. We're glad you're here just the same, "supporting member" or not!!

Enjoy the site!

Ah, how far we've come from way back in the day when it was only me, shan, and DJ posting daily. Then came Gas Man and well, I'll just shut up about that one

Seriously though, Congrats to Shan & TWF for coming so far so fast. To all the members that help make it possible everyday by continually logging on and sharing your knowledge, information, stories, and pics ! And to our supporting vendors that we value so much

If you can give, its most definatley appreciated and will only help us to grow even more. But no matter whether you give from your wallet, from your keyboard, or both...everybody is a winner !

Since I saw in another thread, someone said they couldn't afford to be a Supporting Member, I wanted to bring this one back.

You can be a supporting member for $25 a YEAR!

Yes that's the only way. But then it would only be needed to renew once a year.

Something like this is what TWF needs to do more things like pucks & stickers. Sense we don't make money on anything here this is our best bet to get enough revenue to tackle such things.

So if I pay $100 to become a lifetime supporting member this year, can I pay $100 next year to become a lifetime GOLD supporting member? Or would I have to pay $200 next year?

Yeah I've been thinking about it too, I actually lurk here a lot more than I post though. I just don't know if I can come up with $200 all at once but I'd like to eventually be a lifetime gold supporting member.

Yeah or a track day, I know. But for as much as we use this place I feel like we/I should give something tangible back.

Shan, what's the word on my question above??

I don't believe you can do "payments" into the lifetime thing... others have asked... anything is appreciated... and gets you "in" the door.

Just pay the $25, it's only like a case and a half of beer
