New rider,, basically clueless
I am technically not even a rider yet. Iíve always wanted a motorcycle of any kind-dirt bike, street bike-but my parents had really weird and ďtraditionalĒ ideas about gender, so my brother got a dirt bike but I did not. I basically put riding out of my head for a long time but now, I really want to start riding.
I will not be using a bike for regular commuting and I donít intend, at least for a while, to ride on major highways. I donít want to spend a lot of money on a first motorcycle because, while Ií think I will become addicted, there is a chance that I wonít like it or am just too uncoordinated to do it.
Iíve been considering a Honda Grom, possibly used because I could get one for under $3000. I know Iíd probably get sick of it relatively quickly but I donít know how much riding Iíd be doing and itís not a huge investment.
Aside from what Iíve read about this bike, I am clueless about anything else. I know about the different classes of motorcycles and there are certain styles that I like. Would anyone suggest a different, inexpensive starter bike, for off-highway riding?
