Looking for a salvage bike, what are my options?

So the Buell is gone and I'm itching for a new bike. I've posted threads collecting ideas for a project before but now I'm actually in the market and have a good idea of what I want. The problem is I can't find it.

I'm currently working at a dealership so I get discounts on parts, and a place to work on a bike. Perfect time for me to do a project. I also have some money but not a lot, another good reason for a project.

I'm looking for a Salvage Title or wrecked bike that I can fix up to my liking. One of the newer 600 sport bikes would be perfect. For example, an 06 or later GSXR. I'm not willing to fix frames, subframes or forks simply due to time and money. Also, I'm looking for something that won't take all that much to get legal and running. So basically, I'm looking for a newer 600 sport bike with lots of cosmetic damage for the price it's worth.

I'm noticing that a lot of people on craigslist with bikes like this are asking much more than the bike is worth.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I can find bikes like this other than craigslist? I've looked at Safaricycle.com and found a few options and I'm wondering if there are similar websites out there. Do I just need to keep checking around until I find something or are there other places to look?

Any other advice is of course always welcome.

You might try some of the racing forums and find a used trackbike that you can street.

Good idea, any one in particular that you'd reccommend?

That website seems kind of sketchy to me. I can't even figure out where they are.
