zx10 shift light

hey guys m having a blast on my new(to me) 04 zx10. anyways i thoguht i heard that u can change the rpm that the shift light comes on, i dont have an owners manual so i was wondering if any of u guys knew how to go about it. also what are some sugestions of a good rpm to set it for? assuming its possible. as far as power mods ive put on a full acrapovic, power commander, tre, bmc air filter n a custom map from ivan. thx in advance people

I dont know how to set it...but if it was me I would set it for where the power band flattens out.

I have an 06 ZX10 and I know that I can set mine. I don't have the manual with me but I think that you have to hold one of the buttons on the display while you turn on the ignition. I'll check and get back to you.

OK, here is the scoop for the 06. You have to hold the Mode and Reset Buttons at the same time for more than 2 seconds. after that, the tach should rise to where the light is set. after that, hitting the mode button changes the way the light works, ie flashing, on or off. the reset button increases the setting by 100rpm. press and hold them both to return the tach to normal mode... let me know if this helps. I have a friend with an '05 that I can call if that dosn't help

lol ill give it a shot, now alli need to kno is should i bother moving it from the stock setting?? meh.. i need a dyno haha
