good luck, if this is your first bike, first time riding... bad choice, if you can already ride and survive the beginners stage, i like my o3' 636 and cant find anything wrong with it, so i think the 06 is a damn good bike, just kno its a SS bike and nasty as all get out

First bike? If you have zero experience on two wheels, I'll say this. Don't claim the wreck on your insurance. It will spike. I haven't heard anything bad about them. I got a buddy with one, who only uses it on the track. I do know that they look like ass. But that's just my opinion. like Drewp's '03 body way better. The '07 6R's look decent. There's only a 599cc in the '07 and it makes more power than the 636cc.

I have the 06' 636 SE. I love it. Sometimes I wish it had a little more pull in the low end. It is very quick steering, and good power. The only problem I have with the bike is cosmetic. I dont like the way the stock exhaust looks. I like that it is underseat system but the way the end of it looks is just stupid.

My first bike was a brand new '04 R6. And I had absolutely zero two wheel experience. I wrecked once out of stupidity. Other than that, I made it OK. BTW, don't try passing a car when a sharp ass corner is coming up.

I think you'll like based on what I've read. As for the first bike thing, just don't be stupid and you'll be fine.

No one is saying you won't love it...we're just saying it can get you into trouble...very quickly. Then you may not love it as much.
