Anyone else own a zx-14?

Just looking for other zx-14 riders on here. Thought, if I may, start a zx-14 thread to talk about our problems, adventures, etc on these bikes. We can share tips and secrets to make these bikes even better.

I'll start out.

I own a zx-14 (blue with custom paint job) 2006. My new boy bought it for me when we were just riding friends. There is a photo of it if you click my profile to see. (yeah it's small, sorry bout that). We have it pretty custom. Believe it or not, before painting, mine used to be green!

I dont own one myself but my father does,he has a blue 06 with a full muzzy exhaust and a power commander... We are leaving for NC. From Fla thursday and that is the bike im riding. Myself i ride a 97 zx7r.. I dont know of any problems right now other than adding that power commander killed the fuel mileage..

Nice to see that there are some other zx-14 riders (Owners) around! It is not the easiest thing to find people with this bike...a lot of people think they are common..they arent really! If anyone ever comes up through Iowa, lemme know, i'll bring mine out!

I have a buddy I ride with that has one. But were down in Pensacola, Florida. Sadly to say tho Im just not a big fan of the zx-14 or the busa 4 that matter. I just firmly believe the zx-10 is an all around much better bike, only category it losses in his straight line acc and even that is not by that much. HOwever I take that back, I believe the zx-14 is more comfortable so ok their would be the only reason I'd pick it up over then 10

I found that every bike has pros and cons for every person. I ride a LOT of bikes ( a lot of my friends let me ride theirs to try them out) and I feel for me the 14 and the Yamaha r6 has the best fitting. I have ridden the 10 many times, but it just seems to pinch me a little in the seat area, but the 14 doesnt. It was a hard toss up for me between the 14 and the 10,,but the 14 got my vote

thats what i said, the 14 was designed to be more comfy in the seat, even tho it is by no meens a slouch at the track, it cannot match the 10 in lap times, it can come close due to closing the gap on the straights but when the time comes to sling it into the corners I feel the 14 just cant do it as well. And of course the track time proves this.

I would love to take mine out to a track and see how fast I can get it going. I have a new track around here (for cars) but they may allow a bike or 2 to get on it...like I said just got built..so should be nice and fast.

Yesterday I saw a white limited edition with the red flames. It had a sweet Muzzy 4 into 1 system on it. Sounded killer!

I've seen a pic that is close to the one that you described on the zx-14 board that they have out on the net now. I still love lookin though at all the different ones that people can put up. It is great to see how creative some of these people can get!

Hi, new to the forum. I have been reading for a while but not posting. I have an 06 zx14 in blue. I am yet to see another on the street. Of course I considered a Hayabusa but I ended up with the zx.

The bike has a Muzzy titanium header and a carbon fiber can. It's not loud, but sounds good and looks good.

Thanks,
-z

I take it out cruising I find it very comfortable and sometimes I just beat the crap out of it; I can't help it. I really like and I'm glad I picked it? How about you?

I take mine out almost every day except when I'm practicing stunting (then I take out the r6). After all the work i've put into mine doing customizing on it, I really try not to bash mine up at all ( I think the r6 wishes that it was in the zx's shoes..it's so beat up!). Mainly with mine, I messed with the speedo on it so I can fly FAST around the farm roads around here. Once in awhile I will do some wheelie work on it, but thats as far as I take the stunting on it. I did a highchair ONCE and got a little wobbly, so last time I'll do that on that bike.

Did you see the foto of mine in my profile?

and send some pics of yours =)
