1993 Zx7

Any thoughts on these bikes? I have no experience with these older sportbikes, but I found what appears to be a good deal on one. It's got a new inspection, "tuneup" chain and sprokets and is apparently in great shape. Guess he just put a new Hindle exhaust on it too.

Guy wants $3500 for it and an identicle parts bike, which is as cheap as a motorcycle comes around here, where used 03 600RR's are going for $8500 for god knows what reason.

So what's the take on these bikes? It looks just like the one in this picture. http://w1.bikepics.com/pics/2004%5C0...11990-full.jpg

Personally I think they look pretty cool, is there anything to be worried about with these bikes?

3500 for two bikes? Sounds like a good deal. The older rigs were built pretty tough...although I cannot speak directly of Kawasaki.

Not bad.. but be careful.. Part Bikes have often been able to bake a potato upon touch.... (meaning they're Hot)

I'm thinking it might be a good deal, there is just something about these 15 year olds bikes, something about the design, almost like there is something missing from the new versions. I dunno, guess I just like the looks.

Oh, BTW, what year is your Gixxer? There is a guy down the street with a 99' 750 for sale with 17000 miles for $4500 that I've also been drooling over. Any thoughts about that one?

Mine is 92. Runs like a champ. Pushing 30k miles.

The 99 was a solid GSXR. They Fuel injected the 750's in 1998...and they have been known to have a bit of stumble...as most first year FI bikes do. So the 99 should have the mapping cleared up. Without seeing the condition and NADA value...4500 seems a bit high to me. If you can bang him down several hundred bucks it would be a rock solid deal if the bike is in good order.
