Hard seeing behind me with sideviews...

On my Ninja 250 I have trouble seeing behind me using the sideviews. I am not a big guy at all but my body gets into the way and it drive me nuts. Is there some sort of different mirrors I can get that will allow me to see behind me better?

Thanks

eh... its always a problem on any bike. You could get extended mirrors, or one of those fisheye mirrors so you can see better

Welcome to sportbikes where all our mirrors suck monkey balls.

One thing that helped me, loosen up a little. I can now see most points but it does take some movement, the tucking of elbows, raising and lowering of torso and shifting to see almost directly behind.

I bolted Buell Firebolt mirrors on my bike, that helped pretty good. They point more out away from the bike. The stockers pointed more up so the view was very narrow.

Anytime a manufacturer puts big, usable mirrors on a model they get slammed for making it ugly. Style rules, the majority or Americans are much more worried about how something looks than how it works.

I have the adjustable spot mirrors attached to my side mirrors and i don't like them. I think they take up too much space on my mirrors to begin with and i don't like the effect of cars looking further away than they are. But that's why i always look over my shoulder just to check what's behind me

I don't even have mirrors on mine, I took them off and put on blocks. I have 'blind spot' mirrors velcroed to my rairings just to make it so that I can get on post but I can't even see out of them and you'll be staring at the ground.

I do what the picture up above does, it's a lot better.

I'm thinking this might be the way to go. Right now I just move my body around to see but being a newbie I would prefer seeing without twisting all around. lol

God, I have mirrors though, you just can't see out of them! If you look at them, you see the lines painted on the pavement so you can see like bugs crawling alongside you!

But here in Texas, they require mirrors, just depends on how you look at the laws. It says the same thing that the Department of Defense regulations say, 'mirrors must be mounted on the fairings'! So mine are mounted on the fairings, just not to the point where you can see out of them and they're useful!

Also, does anyone make some sort of plate I can use to fill the holes where my stock mirrors go? The bolt holding the mirrors on also hold the front fairong on so I need them.

they make hole plugs (check local hardware store etc) and mirror block offs which will secure you fairing too. But you prolly still wont be able to see directly behind too well.

McCoy Motorsports http://www.tobefast.com/ is where I got mine for my R6, they have "R6" laser engraved into the block. Look good, since I got them, there have been like 5 or 6 other people here that have gotten them! Makes me mad!!!
