Ninja ZX6 ?R?

I'm searching for some direction. Either the name of the color, year of the bike, locations to find some... etc.

I'm interested in buying a sportbike soon and I spotted a Ninja ZX6 outside of a local blockbuster. I don't know a lot about streetbikes seeing that my only interactions is racing them in my car, but this one caught my eye cause of it's color.

The color was a flat paint, blue and purple - cameleon like paint. Black rims and i believe black frame.

The bike was sick and I've been sold every since I saw it. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks ahead of time.

i know that kawi makes a flat blue paint scheme for the zx-6r, but no purple in it. i guess it'll depend on the year and maybe it was custom paint? but dont completely set ur mind on that bike b/c looks and feel are two very different things.

more then likely it was a custom job. I have a 2005 ninja that's blue. Love the bike.

I've seen a factory paint scheme in what looks like blue for the most part, but in certain light, or at certain angles, is like a purple on the 05 636, which btw is a pretty sweet bike.

since this is your first street bike, you might want to think about some other bikes. a 600cc is a lot for a noob. consider a ninja 250, a ninja 500, sv650 or ninja 650r.

but I agree I like the 05 zx6r looks alot for some reason. especially in the gloss blue and all black, that was my first dream bike. the black or the blue one, with gold wheels... that'd be sick
your first bike doesnt have to be your dream bike.

shouldnt be your dream bike either, because you WILL drop and maybe crash it a few times while learning. I crashed my EX500, the first one anyways a few different times while learning to ride.

i think as long as youre not an idiot a 600 will be fine as a 1st whether its a supersport or a sport tourer. my gsxr 600 is my first with practically no experience at all. i dropped it once at about 2 mph being dumb and trying to ride up a sidewalk! its been about 4 months and i ride it as a daily rider now and im glad i didnt spend my $$ on a smaller 250 or 500!

thanks for the help and advise so far. The bike was flat blue, not gloss, and it was at night so there seemed to have a purple look in it. That may have been just the dark blue edges since it was night. did kawasaki make any ninja's in a flat blue with black rims? that may be it. I KNOW it was a ninja just not what year or model.

I have either seen the same bike twice, or two different ones of it around, in places about 1 hour from each other.

as for my first bike, it won't be my first bike, but my first streetbike. I've owned a ktm 250sx-f for about 2 years now.

i know the 06 636 came in a flat blue, and the current zx-6r comes in flat blue. i agree its hot, but like mentioned before go sit on some and choose comfort over looks b/c most of the sport bikes these days look hot anyways. and though i feel having experience on dirt bikes doesn't really mean you can just jump on a 600 no problem, i think you'd do fine.
if youre gonna get a 600, might as well make it a wise-choiced 600.

but how much riding experience do you have? I bought my bike 2 years ago and have less than 3500 miles riding experience on it due to deployments and Alaska winters...

not saying you couldn't handle it... My ZZR600 was my first bike... (though I logged about 500 miles on a SV650 learning) but a Super Sport (especially a brand new one) will be a completely different beast than your 250Sx-f....

it'd be like learning to drive in a old pickup... then buying a brand new Vette... yeah you'll know HOW to drive it... but with all that power... you'll get into trouble really easy.

even moving from the SV to my ZZR600 was a wake up... as I took a year break between.

either way... get into a MSF Beginners course first... it'll help no matter what your experience
