Kawasaki the way to go?

All my friends are into bikes, tricks/stunts, and heavy riding.

Well I've been trying to get them to help me find this "ghost" ninja color for my new bike, but everytime i bring it up, they continously tell me that I do not want a kawasaki. Their reasons are that the frame is weak, ride is terrible, and they aren't reliable. They recommend going with yamaha or honda.

I was curious as to your guys' opinions and experiences. Thanks.

in all my experiences with kawasaki, I've never truly been disappointed. they're NOT weak framed the ride is pretty good, they're insanely reliable(if you take care of em) and are just as good as the Yamaha or Honda bikes. though for stunting, I'd recommend an F4i, since they seem to be the most dependable ever.

I think you need to tell your friends to start taking better care of their bikes, and this kind of crap isnt an issue.

Kawi makes good stuff since about '03,04'. Most of the older models are tough as hell but emphasize engine performance over chassis performance. I have seen all generations of Kawi's go thru some extreme punishment and keep coming...

Nothing wrong with a Kawi. Strong motors with lots of torque. Reliability is just a good as the other big 3. Go with what you want, NOT what you buddies want you to get.

They're bulletproof. Search around here, there's an article where they put a zixxer through hell (no water, no oil, burned out the exhaust) and it didn't give up. Cooled down, and ran smooth the next day.

Add a 650R (mine) and all the people here that started on second-, third-, even fourth-hand 250s.

Never heard any bad about em really. Only weak frame I ever heard of in this century was the gsx-r's breaking at the welds on the neck, and I think it was due more to stunting it than riding it. Ya can never go wrong with a Honda, so get what you like n want n f**k what ya friends say.

So far my zx6r hasn't let me down yet! I had a F4i and it was a piece. But that doesn't mean they all are. Mine was taken care of good but it had some type of fuel issue that i couldn't get resolved. So far I have never heard anything negative about Kawasaki's. Yammi's are bad for 2nd gear going out. Suzuki's are great for modifying since most of the aftermarket companies specialize in them and most of the parts interchange.

I feel that most bikes are reliable designs, but how reliable it is, is DIRECTLY related to how it is maintained and ridden.

I feel suzuki sucks, but thats my personal opinion. never liked how they look. Honda is my brand.

I love my kawi...

I say **** what everyone else says.... get what you want.

if your friends make fun of you for it... ****'m... they're not worth your time.

it's YOUR money... YOUR the one who's gonna ride it... sit on a few... find what's comfortable for you.

But seriously all bikes feel and handle different. All the top manufactors are very close in performance and reliability. I like to promote Kawi but thats only because I have one and love it. Go down and sit on all the bikes that you may want and maybe test ride them and go from there. Price wise they are all about the same and reliability wise they are all about equal. In the end you are the one paying for it and riding it.

the zx-14 had a few cases with the frame, but nothing major, and it only happened to a very few. otherwise, 2008 model, have an improved frame anyway. but like you said, gods knows how the guy was riding.

Now that you mention it, I have heard of a few cases of rust in the 650Rs steel frame. BUT that was a first model year, Europe only, very small batch deal. Happens to everything mass produced.

I'm by no means a Kawi guy. I wouldn't buy one. But your buddies are full of $#!T. There is nothing wrong with a Kawasaki. If thats what you like then buy it.
