Beware, it's not quite the festival of debauchery it once was.... no more random toplessness, and much less of the chaps n thongs of yesteryear... Also, this year the cops have announced they're cracking down on noise violations, and ticketing bikes with exhaust that registers over 70dB.

Still, it's a lot of fun, lots of people watching, and the races are always a blast.

You would be surprised. THe Screamin Eagle pipes I put on the wife's sporty are suppose to be both emissions and sound approved. And they are much louder than most sportbikes.

Don't they say stuff like that every year though? When I went to Bike Week in Myrtle, they had signs and crap all over the place... Meanwhile everytime I saw a cop he was surrounded by 20 straight-piped choppers...

I've never heard them specifically say they were trying to enforce the noise ordinances.... and really, it's going to be impossible to do. No way to isolate the sound of ONE bike with that many of them around, I'd think.

Not to mention the astronomical amount of tickets they would have to write... combined with the tourist backlash... They just say that to keep the locals happy...
