Dragon Closed

Til after 7pm tonight

A semi overturned at Two Square last night and when they tried to remove it and they had to rip the trailer into 3 pieces spilling a cargo of old newspapers/magazines into the ditch. They are picking all the stuff up with a backhoe and severely damaged the road. They are repaving that section and they said that part of the road will likely never be the same. I will see tomorrow.

I hear it looks straight on a map... My question is, why haven't they put up signs yet?

They have them up but they are too hard headed to turn around. It's a federal highway and looks like a big shortcut. This argument is old. You aren't going to get trucks off this road unless you get an alternate route for the trucks to use and then you are endangering the road itself from being wiped away.

There is a sign on the TN side, but it's small and if you're not looking for it and just trucking...

I haven't approached the dragon from the NC side straight on so I don't know about that side.

By the time they get to the signs it will cost them several hours to get back and then more to get around. Which I still don't understand why that one dude went back through after he made through (he did get stuck) the night you were here PG. That man was an idiot.

Man that's a big mess to clean up.

Sucks about the trucks... aren't they planning some by interstate thats going to pave over the dragon or something? Or will it just become a nice backcountry road with less people on it?

No I don't think they will do the interstate through there with the park right on the border. They will probably come another route. Unfortunately I think the crowd will just get worse.

Look what I did, I wanted to use F instead of S, but figured I would get in trouble for that.

A little pavement patch won't hurt anything it will catch a few folks out that don't survey the road before tearing through maybe....

We got some pics today. The dragon is f***ed up. It's really dirty, we need a good rain storm.

There is now a rock wall at two square. Someone is going to die there soon.

Pics will be up when Kyle gets off his lazy a** and posts them.
