so far, i got 2 zixxers lined up to roll w/ me so far. still waiting to drag more riders out w/ me. i shouldn't even be dragging them! some ppl just arent grateful for good weather.
im doin this for all the fellow riders back east who aren't so fortunate!

sorry to say dude... you live in a land of posers! I've never seen so many bikes in one spot as I did when I was in cali... but the thing is... that's all they did... sit in one spot... usually an In and Out Burger parking lot.

I wish I was down there... I'd be giving Drewpy a good run for his money on miles...

ridiculous amounts of bike nites/crews. but cali IS the land of looks...
i try to ride w/ a pack of 4 or 5. thats a good size...
i'm gonna try to roll thru the hills going from o.c. down to san diego. they got some nice windy roads there i think.
then afterwards, we're gonna get some in-n-out!

I would go but my bike is not street legal anymore. I get tempted to turn it back into street legal trim, but I don't know if that's such a good idea.
Where in SoCal are you? Have you ridden Angeles Crest?

Its not that there's lots of posers in CA, it's that there's lots of riders period. That means you'll see more posers. If you hit up places like palomar, malibu, Angeles Crest, on the weekends, you'll see hundreds of hardcore canyon riders, those are probably the types of riders you want to hook up with to go on rides.

Not sure if you're familiar with ACH, if you are, you prob already know that there's always riders at the shell in the morning that ride up to Newcombs. Just show up there, introduce yourself and you gots some peeps to ride with. That's what I did. Most riders that meet there are real cool and willing to show you the roads. (as long as you don't come off like a squid LOL) Although I don't ride streets anymore, I still see a lot of those guys on the track, real cool, level headed group of riders. Just make sure you ride your own ride if you go, there's riders there that have been riding those roads for years so everyone's "pace" will differ.

Here's a map view that one of the ACH regulars put together. Too bad there's no way to attach it to view the bigger version. If you want, send me a PM with your e-mail and I'll send you the bigger image so you can better see the streets on the map.

They all meet at the shell station in La Canada, it's pretty much at the base of ACH.

The ROAD

If you decide to go and haven't been there before, please take it easy. Learn the road. It's a sportriders dream, but can also be a nightmare if you don't treat it with respect.

Good luck and have fun wherever you decide to ride!

thanks dude! im from riverside and most of my fellow riders are from riverside/orange county, we usually don't go northwards, but i'll def keep that in mind. i personally roll through idylwilld in the early morning and get breakfast at the little cafe at the top. but i believe it's too icy up there lately, so i'm gonna map out a route from riverside to s.d.
once we're done w/ the canyons, we'll cruise and relax at the beach.

as far as the poser thing, idk maybe there's an underground network of true non-poser riders that i don't know about, cuz everyone i meet on the streets here are the type that only has a sportbike for the look...but its true, when i hit up idyllwild, there's endless amounts of canyon carvers in the morning...

I love riding to Idyllwild. We ride there at least once a month. I'm not riding right now because I just had surgery to repair some damage in my left ankle. Believe me, I already tried to shift my bike into 2nd, but had no success. I'm handicapped right now. The soonest I'll be riding is February. So for now, I'm playing PS2 with my kids. I''l keep you in mind "p00kienrayray" next time we ride. Last time we hit Idyllwild we were 17 deep.
