Bro, I'm so sorry that this happened to you. There is this guy I worked with that said when he was a kid he used to steal bikes all the time. At the time he thought it was a fun game to do. He doesn't do it anymore, but it pissed me off just listening to a prior bike thief and I can only imagine how many people's lives he has hurt. I'd be super pissed to if someone took something that I worked hard for.

Yeah its happening everywhere... here in Houston when my Kawi was stolen the cops didn't even come out to make a report- they took the report over the phone- "vehicle theft hotline" and gave me a case #. Its so common here, that they set up a hotline!

At least your not 6miles from the Mexico - American border where most bikes are stolen and end up in Mexico, hardly ever to be recovered. They actually had a group of guys going around in a rented U-Haul stealing bikes and taking truck-loads over to Mexico.

law into own hands

Well, once a majority of bikers start carrying guns and start turning them bike thieves into buriel plots that's when someone (legislation) is going to do something about bikes being sold in Mexico for 1/3rd of the bikes actual price. I have an alarm on my bike, but I am now considering getting a license pistol for fear someone will rip me off. I'm not even comfortable if I go visit a friend for fear that someone will take my bike.

I didn't even think of Lo Jack before. It is basically very peaceful here where I live , but lately there has been a ton of theft around here Im not sure if there is a crime ring or something targeting this area but I just wish I was up at the time they came and kicked through my garage door. I worked so hard in a hot ass foundry to earn the money for my first ever brand new bike and someone steals it with no regard for peoples property. Thanks for you support guys I really appreciate it.

Chad Clark.

That sucks man! My older bros bike was stolen out of his garage a year ago, but the theifs threw it in a ditch down the street from his house because they couldn't get it started.

I have a scorpio alarm with 2 way paging..I'd recommend it to anyone.

Yeah, the U.S. Border Patrol is there but they don't check what is going OVER from the U.S. to Mexico, they just check what is coming back.

Actually, there's a funny story about that with me. I went over with three of my friends who all happened to be hispanic, when we came back over, a U.S. Border Patrol agent stops the car and asks questions, then asks for our I.D. I give him my Colorado State license and everyone else gives him their Texas State licenses. The guy turns to me and says, "Sir, are you a legal resident of the United States Of America?" I was so pissed! My answer to him, "You dumb Motherf'er! With a name like "Bryan Joseph Tysz", being from Colorado, you have the nerve to ask me if I'm a legal resident of the U.S.? Are you flucking stupid? God forbid you ask one of the other people in the car or these other cars that are behind me. Get the fluck out of here you $tupid Shiot!" I took my I.D. and we drove away. I haven't been over in Mexico since.

I looked into getting LoJack down here in Texas and if I wanted it, I'd have to take my bike a 8 to 10 hour trip to Dallas to get it installed. Not worth it.

How about a dealer in El Paso that steals your bike about 2+ weeks after it's serviced by them?
