i'll charge my battery overnight, then the next day ill take to the store, go get some gas, and then to work. when i get off of work like 8 - 10 hours later, the battery will be pretty weak. to the point where the battery will die after 3 attempts cranks. can anyone explain to me how to check the recharging system. also i just got the bike and havent done any maintance to it due to lack of time. can anyone suggest what would help the bike turn on easier when its cold.

DC 12.0-12.6 on battery is good surface charge.
While running it should be 13.0-15.0 Volts DC. (Charging System)
Turn your ignition and high beams on with the engine off for 1-3 minutes. (Load test battery) Should be 11.6-12.6 when you turn everything off.

Yeah they are just all around better. No liqued acid, no water, no maintance, completely sealed, provide more CCA even after its not fully charged. hold a better charge for long period of time.
