suomy helmet

i am looking to buy a suomy ventura helmet and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this model? suomy is suppose to be a top end helmet but the suomy ventura is a really cheap one in price which is under $200 and is still DOT approved and was wondering if it stands up to the quality of the more expensive suomy, shoei, and arai helmets

It's a great helmet. I love mine. Very light. Very comfortable. The only downside...as with all Suomy's...the shield is a PAIN IN THE ASS to change. It's not a quick job. It doesn't use the special tool like the Spec 1R's do...but you need a screw driver. Other than that it's awesome. DOT and BSI approved.

If it is anything like my gunwind all you have to do is pull the covers off and there is a little black lock that you turn a quarter of a turn with your fingers and the shield comes off.

Looks pretty sweet.... and i'm sure Suomy wouldn't put their name on it unless it was held to the same quality standard as the rest of their helmets... after all being cheaper just means MORE PEOPLE CAN AFFORD IT... so more likely that's going to be one of their top sellers
