Shoei vs. Scorpion Fit - Anyone tried both?

I have tried a Shoei RF1000 (XL) on, and it fits perfectly. However, I'm really interested in the Scorpion EXO-1000. Does anyone know how the fitment of the two compare? I was just going to order up an XL EXO-1000 and if it didn't fit right, send it back.

If your going to order & return keep in mind some places have a re-stocking fee.

I have a Shoei RF1000 and it fits great. Then I came across the Scorpion EXO 1000 and those fit me perfect as well. In my case and from what I've heard if Shoei fits you then Scorpion will as well. My next helmet will probably be a Scorpion unless their prices go way up.

I'll probably buy from NewEnough. Returns are pretty smooth through them. All I'd end up losing is the shipping cost.

I had the EXO 400 before my RF-1000. They both fit totaly different. The Shoei was more of a "scratchy" feeling, for lack of a better term. It wasn't scratchy, but the Scorpion has that sweat absorbing inner and it feels good. But the physical fit, the way it goes around your head, is a lot different. But the Shoei's vents work AWESOME! But the Scorpion comes stock with the anti-fog shield that works awesome too.

I'll probably get a Scorpion to rock at the track where I'm most likely to crash, that'll save my Shoei since it's so much more expensive.

What I'm concerned about is the way it wraps around my noggin'. I like the way the Shoei fits; I like the Scorpion design. However, I don't know of a local place that sells Scorpions so I can try them on.

I take that back. I just found a place. I guess I'll head over there and squeeze into some Scorpions!

I want to know how that Scorp fits If it's like the Shoei for a lower price, I'll def. look into it.

Tried an RF-1000 Joust TC-1 saturday Feels so nice. But it was marked $475 Oh well- another helmet to look out for a good deal...

Oh- decided not to get the Vandal I spotted for $250. I'm thinking an XL is just a tad too big, and that's all they had

I've heard great things about the fit of the Shoei, but never heard much about the Scorpion. Def try to find a local dealer if possible so you can avoid the restocking fee's most places have. It shouldnt be a great deal on a helmet but none the less.

I saw that one- only i think the background was blue. Wild looking helmet, def. not one I could sport, but it would make you more visible!

I tried some Scorpions today. They don't fit my melon like a Shoei does. They seem to fit similar to the HJCs and Icons, where there's this seemingly flat spot right on my forehead, creating this pressure point.

I also tried on a cheap Fulmer (I think it was a Fulmer) and it fit quite nicely.

I think I'm going with the Shoei RF 1000.

Either this:

That "flat spot" sucks big time.

The Fulmer seemed ok; about on par with my current HJC. Neither one of those feel as solid as the Shoei, or the Scorpion.
