Save yourself about $25, head to your local sporting goods store, and buy yourself some Under Armour sliding shorts.

$50 is a decent price.... I may be ordering a set... though I'm wondering how comfortable they'd be on long trips...

I have some ICON shorts that are similar to that. They are pretty comfy. Rode 100 miles yesterday and they felt good the whole time. They are pretty tight so they keep the package in one place.

Are those actually hard armoured? They look to just be the soft foam like sliding shorts. If they're armoured, though, very cool (and well worth $50!)

If they're like the riding shorts I've seen the armor is thicker and stiffer than sliding shorts.

Good find. I'll have to see if I can find a pair. I've been looking at the Bohn and some other brands Cycle Gear carries.

Those are triple stiched hard sponge. It is basically 4 layers woven together. They are not hard plastic which will give you a comfortable ride in both cold and warm weather as it wicks sweat away and for us guys thats important.
