Think they'll let me?

the drag strip here in tulsa is about to open up and i'd like to go see what i can do. However, i believe their rules say you have to have a leather jacket but i have a nylon timaxx2. as much padding and protection as it offers, i think it would be perfectly ok, but what do i know? Has anyone here been allowed on a strip with a textile jacket? Is it possible I may be? I cant afford a new jacket right now is why im asking, thanks. here's some pics.

A lot of good textiles w/armor offer more protection than poorly designed leather ones. They SHOULD but probally wont imo.

I always thought that most textile jackets offered as much IMPACT protection as any Leather did... but the benifit of Leather is it holds up better to sliding and the road rash... and being that your going down a drag strip... IMPACT isn't gonna be any greater than on the street (unless you hit a wall) your gonna be falling from the hight of your seat. but the SPEED your going at will make you slide for a ways if you go down...

that's the only reason I could think they'd want Leather over Textile... and if that's the case... I can't see you getting on...

Call the track and check with them. It really don't matter what any of us say about our tracks. Each track is owned by a different clown!

go to your local salvation army/good will store and fnd an old ass leather jacket that is one size too big and put it on over that if they have a problem with you wearing textile... does it say that you must be in "FULL LEATHERS" because at 160mph jeans will shred like mozzarella on a pizza...........

EDIT: oh yeah forgot F'n sweet jacket man.....

i think you have to have full leathers if you're doing over 130 in the 1/4. i have a pair of leather pants, just not the jacket part. Thanks by the way
