Need help with Gear

I don't know if it's because I've been off my bike for a couple of years or me getting older and having a kid or what, but I'm looking for gear.... I've been looking at the new speedmaster 5.0 jacket but am not sure about the fit/quality. I'm a bigger guy and am looking for suggestions on gear.

52-54 inch chest and it just goes straight down no V upper body more like H

You should try it on. I have three Fieldsheer jackets that are all size 46, but different styles. Each fits differently.

I'd love to try it on if I could find a shop with one in stock. I've called a couple already and they've said they would need to order it. I don't want to pull the tommy boy and be a fat guy in a little coat

well, measure yourself and compare it to the size charts provided by different brands. that may be the closest you can come to trying it on, what with not having any dealers around that keep jackets in stock. it's frustrating, i know.

I'd try to find some online dealers who will let you exchange a size. Also try our supporting vendors. They will help you out.

Terry at Cyclemartusa is very good with estimating sizes. PM him.

Maybe I'm slow, but I'm sure there was a link around here to all the supporting vendors and now I can't find it.

PM sent.

Absolutely true...but often very difficult with fewer and fewer stores actually stocking the product.

Well I just bought my jacket. Took some convincing on my part to the wife. She thinks more protection = me acting stupid while riding. I tried telling her it's so I don't get hurt when acting stupid LOL

I told her she doesn't have to worry until I get the pants. She'll probably never let me have them now. Ohh well some is better than nothing.... I ended up with the Joe Rocket Speedmaster 5.0 loved the perforations for hot humid ride hopefully it fits.

You don't even know... It's like a bike only Wal*Mart... Every time I go in there I end up in weird places that I don't belong... Cruiser area, dirtbike area, womens gear area... It's just overwhelming... but in a good way.

Well I just got my jacket It's a little big in some places but fits snuggly in others.... Now it's supposed to rain so I can't go out to see how cool it is.

still trying to get pics of bike and jacket. But I've been wearing it and am absolutely in love with it.

It hasn't been too hot here yet around 85 or so but the perforations keep me cool and warm enough in the mid 40's for my ride into work.

I love this jacket.
