EXo-700 ?

I'm thinking about the scorpion EXO700. I like the fact that it has different shell sizes, cuz thats pretty much the main problem I have with my current lid. Also I want something that looks better than flat black. anyways I'm thinking of this one:

other options:

opinions? does it look like sh*t ? is it awesome ?

any other companies make multiple shell sizes? I think shoei does but don't know about any others.

Bikeless for the moment.

I've got the crackhead series in black.... It's a great helmet, but I was expecting it to be a little less wind noisy.

I will say it's much better than my older helmets of HJC, KBC, and THH.

Oh and the Anti Fog sheilds kick ass! They really work! For the money it's worth it!

I've been wearing a medium silver Rivet for a little while now. Very impressed with it, particularly considering the price. My next helmet will probably be another Scorpion.

yeah no joke its only a bit more $$ than the genericky HJC that I have now...

well I'd really like to go check them out in a store, but the nearest scorpion dealer is 70 miles away according to the website. So to those of you that have seen them in store, do you notice a difference between the shell sizes?

and do they have dark/smoked/tinted shields?

I don't have a local dealer either. I waited until I was in Dallas one weekend and hit a shop that had them in stock. Then I got to try them on, etc., and when I got home I ordered one from their website (for the same price). Might want to try that if you'll be traveling anytime soon.

I believe they have optional shields. Pretty sure they also have a photochromatic one that is clear in the dark and tinted in the sunlight. I've just been using the stock clear shield since I ride at night sometimes.

My wife has the blue Raider. She likes it. The anti-fog is great on those. But beware...the MIRRORED shield is NOT anti-fog.

Not sure about the Crackhead, but the Rivet is a matte finished helmet. I believe that is the difference you are seeing.

I have been looking at the raider in silver prety hard. They sound like great helmets from what i've read.

I like the clear finish better... I'm thinking I'll prolly just go with that one. but I'm willing to spend more than $200, maybe up to $400 if the SIZE of the helmet is right.

anybody know about the Shoei RF1000? I see that it comes in 3 shell sizes. but its almost $500...

Hell I have the EXO-400 and love it for the $115.00 on sale last year.

I have the Exo-700 crack head. Black and red. Love it! It's a bit of a different fit from the Shoei that I'm used to, but it's a great helmet none the less.

i have the silver black and white geronimo 700. I love it. It's a great helmet for the money. I like the fact that $199.00 gets you a removable washable liner, snell approved, anti-fog shield, quick release for shield, and replacement parts/shields out the wazoo! Very nice and wide variety of colors/styles. I have heard of a automatic changing shield that transfers from tint to clear depending on the sun coming soon! I would go with the raider imo.

The RF-1000 fits about the same as the Suomy Vandal. More of an oval headshape than either HJC or KBC. Solids Retail around $425 normally, but Moto World has them for $330.

I finally bought myself the Rf-1000 Joust TC-2 (blue) from Moto World for $409.99. Not ridiculously low, but still $65 less than MSRP. Also got an Alpinestars Spinner jacket from Cycle Mart USA for $272. Almost $50 less than MSRP. I'm considering getting a pair of A* SP-2 gloves too, but I spent more than enough money for one night. Now I just have to find boots I like.

Eh- what can ya do when only the expensive chit fits?? I won't regret it, since it's a beautiful helmet, and well worth the money.

honestly... if you are going to spend more then I'd get the Shoei RF1000 over the Scorpion.
I love my scorpion EXO-700, but over a new Shoei RF1000.... hell no.

I have a gloss black one with clear and smoke shields. The smoke shield isn't dark enough IMHO. Otherwise, it fit my big oval bullet head better than any Arai, Shoei, or HJC I tried on. So far, so good.

I went and tried on the Shoei RF1000 today, one of the TWO helmets that my local dealer carries (RF1000 and HJC CL-15, which i have).

MY GOD what a difference. it felt light and more like a hat then a spacesuit. I still felt like it was a little bulky but definitely less than the HJC. Only thing is it did feel slightly cramped for the 10 seconds I had it on...and was harder to get into (I tried on the small).

just for comparison I tried on the HJC CL-15 in XL size. you could have fit a head and a half in there. I can't believe that mine is the same size shell on the outside.

I'm gonna try and post a picture of me in my gear tomorrow, maybe you guys can tell me if it looks huge or what.

but hell yeah now Im convinced I should at least ditch the HJC at some point (especially in the fall when I'll have the $$$).

hope I can find a better deal on the RF1000... $375 is the best I've seen so far. tho i doubt it seeing as its riding season rite now.
and this one looks the best I think...

Bikeless for the moment.
