help with boots..........

hey guys,
i really want to get some decent riding boots for the street(tired of riding in my Timbs.),
but i'm on a budget, and really can't afford some of these high priced
boots on the market right now.
basically i would like your opinions or experiences with the ones i've narrowed
it down to.......

my first choice... the SetUp Visions =$130

Oxtar SS Performance 2 = $160

Oxtar SS Performance =$150

M2R Racer =$180 (pushing my budget)

AXO Primato =$150

Diadora Evolution Veratex =$180 ( pushing my budget)

Teknic Lightning Boot =$150-$170

if you guys have any other options for me LMK.
in advance.

I dont have any direct experience with any of them. But I've heard good things about the Set Up boots.

Although any of them will offer MUCH better protection than Timbs.

At a quick glance the Setup's and the Axo's provide the most protection. Either of those should be fine.

The oxtar ss-2 was one of the ones I ordered & ended up returining.

Something with how the ankle protection is setup kept digging into the side of my leg, it was very uncomfortable when I walked.

Question on boot fit...

How are riding boots supposed to fit? I tried on the SMX-4 and SMX-R on last weekend. The SMX4 fit a little better, but it was a 45 / 10.5 and I normally wear an 11-12. Both felt a little sloppy in the toe box (too wide) and too big around the top of the ankle. Even sitting on the bike, the pivot/flex point felt awkward. I know why the top/calf of the boot felt loose- didn't tuck my jeans in- but I don't see why the flex area felt so huge.

Here's some nice ones. Scroll down to see if they have your size and color. $175 for boots that are over $300 new.
