Having problems with my Pilot Power tires

I got in my Pilot Power tires for my zx-14 roughly mounted 2 weeks ago. I have been riding the bike NO different than what I normally put it through,,except I go to look over my bike, since it was riding odd..cant explain it..but i get to my BRAND NEW back tire and there is a strip that goes around the tire (making it look like it is from wear) that is down to the cords in the tire. My front one got changed at the same time and is just fine. Same brand etc.

Does anyone know why this would have happend or would have caused this? This is really odd. Never has happend before to me with this brand.

Peace luv and Jungle 4 eva!

You're down to cords in 2 weeks? Is the tire have proper air pressure? Is it aligned properly?

Yeah, everything is done properly. the guy that ALWAYS works on my bike (that is a great stunter and bike mechanic himself) always does the tires when I first get them. Allignment is fine, Pressure is fine. I even double checked EVERYTHING. I am lost on this one.

I'm getting a new set in as we talk,,but still!

Post pics. This seems impossible to me...unless you put on 5000 miles in 2 weeks.

Defective tire? It doesn't happen very often but it does happen.

possible damage from removing plastic wrap. someone used a box cutter to remove wrapping and damaged the tire?

can't speculate until we see the pics.

OK we found out the answer to this odd thing that is happening with the tire. I thought it was a defect too, it wasnt. What happend was;

While the tire were laying at the shop waiting for me to come pick them up, one of the mechanics that works there accidentally grabbed my NEW backtire and put it onto a bike that he was working on. When my friend came to grab the tires to load onto the truck for me, he grabbed my new front tire and what he THOUGHT to be my new back tire as well. I ended up getting a tire that had gone 20k or more miles.

It was just a huge oops on everyones part for not checking. But, thanx for the help that you guys were givin to me! At least it is nothing major that is going to cost me. I'm just a little pissy about it that it could have blown and made me dump!

Peace luv and Jungle 4 eva!

How do you miss something like that. A brand new tire vs a 20k mile tire? I'd find a new shop. And get some glasses for yourself.

yeah, i was dumb....very dumb. I trust this guy with my life,,and he's the one who put it on...I've talked with him already and he admitted that he made an oopsy a BIG oopsy..it was my fault for not checking the tire. I checked it back AT NITE in the shop with hardly ANY light coming in. Only the door being up. I was tired, in a hurry, and since I just trusted him, i mainly looked at it, said OK..and loaded it up onto the truck and sped off. I dont know WHY I didnt check it after that. I think that I thought that since it was checked at the shop, it was all good. I was feeling an odd feeling the entire time I had the tire on..and now I know why.

Are they hooking you up for their mishap, because when sh*t go bad on a bike with a bad tire it can be fatal.

It's not who you are it's what you ride. I mean, "Who really cares who you are anyway"!!!!

As long as he puts your new tires on, and you learned to check more carefully, everything should be fine. Right?
