all black jacket too hot?

So i'd like to get black that way it doesn't look dumb if i switch to a green bike or something, but bought a red jacket before, just worried if its going to be way to hot for going on rides in the summer.

http://www.alpinestars.com/SMK_Jacke.../p/310757.html

thinking about the SMK for now. It seems like it will be good for all around, not to "racey" with a back hump and such that I don't need, but enough protection that I think its worth the extra money over some of the cheaper stuff. If i do go down it would be pointless to shoulda-woulda-coulda myself. I know what med bills are after racing mt bikes and that wasn't 10% as bad as motorcycle wrecks.

this one would probably be much more comfortable... in the grey.

good stuff guys thanks.

thinkin about this one in black/silver for hot days. http://www.ridegear.com/rg/F-42337.html

and then the A* SMK for the rest of the days. Although when I'm just cruisin to school and don't want to be a squid i could probably just zip it up halfway and not get too hot that way. I have seen SO many guys on bikes lately the last couple days (probably i just notice them more often now that i have one) who are in shorts/tshirts and tennis shoes.

for a first jacket, keep it simple. you dont need to look like you belong in a fashion show. make sure it fits rite or you wont wear it. no need to spend a boat looad on a leather. i got mine at the local leather shop for about $100. that was when i started riding 8 years ago. its a mc jacket w/ snap collar for cold days, and zippers on the cuffs (good for warmer days). also has a zip in liner.

I just have a leather/textile jacket in black. yeah its hot at lights, but when you're moving it really isnt a problem. mine has vents in the back and upper arms though, which help DRAMTICALLY with cooling.

Leathers to match the bike? How silly. Check out this leather jacket from Hein Gericke: http://www.newenough.com/closeouts/l...le_jacket.html

check out THIS thread that I posted when I first joined, and you can see my jacket which converts basically from a full textile to a meshie and retains all of the safety. I took pictures in both modes. I made a slight modification to it for personal taste reasons. Anyways, the JR alter ego 2.0 is only 225 bucks.

Sorry the pic quality isn't that hot.

Alot of guys have multiple gears. For example...I have 2 jackets right now. A textile for the fall/spring and a mesh for summer. I am currently looking for a 3rd.

Best thing to do is go to your local gear shops & check out the jackets. I have the JR Supermoto leather jacket & it is very well perforated & I love it.

But the JR Supermoto does not have inner liner so u wont be able to use it for cold weather.

here's what i wear during summer (commuting to work):
Cortech denim jacket. it has good armour protection. but i would prefer a better back coverage (it is missing tail bone protection).

It has good air flow (zippered vents) when in motion, but heat builds up when stopped at road constructions. i would unzip the front completely when stopped at 90+.
it also has a removable liner for those cooler days. this jacket works well betw 55 and 95 degree weather.

I have a mostly black one peice. In Vegas it gets up to 100+ and it's not bad once you're moving. Mines preforated too. And I'd only go out from like 0600 to 1000. Anytime after that, it was just too damn hot to do anything.

I have this same jacket and it's nice but the damn thing feels like a belly shirt. The bottom of it stops just before it hits the top of my pants.
