New Leather Pants! (review) Teknic Chicane

FedEx man dropped off some new pants today! I bought Teknic Chicane Leather pants...to replace the JR's that were too big. I got a killer deal on them on eBay. $151 ducketts.

They fit great. Good length. And true waist size. The waist is elastic all the way around for a nice snug, but expanding, fit. They stay in place very well.

Leather quality is top notch. Very soft and supple. Lined with mesh, jersey type material. Zippers inside each leg that unzip all the way to the top of the calf. Makes for easy entry. They tuck into my Alpinestar SMX3's very nicely.

There are stretch panels on the back of the knees, and the crotch area. Ther are leather expansion panels on the front top of the knees and in the rear waist area. There is also a padding in the @$$. As well as armor in the knee area.

The knee sliders appear to be of a very hard plastic. Should slide quite well.

On the bike...they feel pretty good. The leather gives you a solid anchor to the gas tank when hanging off. They need a little bit of breaking in, as they are a bit tight in the upper leg area.

The only down side is they are not perforated...so they are pretty damn hot. But as I always say...I'd rather sweat than bleed. To the best of my knowledge Teknic doesn't offer a perf. Chicane pant.

Detail taken from the Teknic website: (www.teknicgear.com)

I have the same pantses...really like 'em. I also got the perforated "Sport Leather" Teknic pants, but usually wear the Chicane's. I have a couple of Teknic jackets also and a few pair of Teknic gloves....Teknic is very good quality....You made a great choice

These pants rule. Everyone should wear leather.

I have been looking into these pants, especially since the price is so good. The cheap price made me worry, but you've alleviated that. Thanks for the review Marko.

I like the sport leather ones for the perforation aspect... but they are about double the $$... hmmm

I'm new to this forum, but have been considering the Chicane pants. How does the size compare to the Joe Rocket pants?

For the Teknic's I'd order what you wear in jean size. Keep in mind these sit just below the belly button. Most people stopped wearing jeans at that height in the 80's....so keep that in mind.

JR's typically run a tad small too.

According to the details they do but its hard to be sure, "Details: Full circumference & 8 zipper connectors. " marko should be able to confirm. I found the same pants $ that price on ebay tooso hopefully in the near future I can get a pair. Found a pair of JR GPX's last night for $75 new in the box.
