Gel seats suck! The leather seperates from the leather and then you will be able to see the gel insert.

And Corbin seats SUCK!! They are hard. They use a closed cell foam that just doesn't give the cushioning that one desires. People say it takes a year or so for them to "break in" but really it just takes that long for you to get use to it.

Check out my custom seat thread and the website linked there. Scott, aka Seatmaker, will what he can to make you a happy customer.

mine for my SV was really nice, I liked it on long rides. Only problem is it sucked in the twisties, hard to slide across it, so I took it off when I started going to the dragon regularly and never put it back on.

First of all, I agree that gel seats suck. The gel lumps sometimes pinch your nerves the wrong way and cause even more discomfort.

Secondly, I also agree that Corbin sucks. However, they are meant to be hard. Corbin, Sargent and the custom seat makers use closed cell foams of high density so that they don't deform when you sit on them for a long period of time. Stock seats are made out of crappy soft foams and they get compressed by your weight too easily. Hard foam is more supportive. But Corbin seat sucks. Sargent is, in the words of Snoop Doggy Dog, da shizznit.

Or if you were to want to shell out some serious bucks then go custom with Rick Mayer, Bob Mayer or Russell. These guys will form the seats to your individual asses, taking into accounts of your weights and everything. However, they specialize in touring seats so these things will look like Barca loungers by the time they're done. Wouldn't look too good on your sportbike

For the wife's sporty, the bro's VTX, the uncle's Vulcan... its all about the Mustang Seats!!! But I don't think they make em for sportbikes. They don't used a closed cell foam technology...
