Firstgear Pilot Pants

Anyone know anything about them? Also- any tips on sizing/ fit? Where are knee pucks supposed to rest?

Looking around a local dealer, I found a pair for $150. For that price, I almost have to get them if they're the $300 I've seen in a few places. I can't find them at any major sites (ridegear, newenough, kneedraggers). Or even on firstgear's website! They're leather pants with velcro for knee pucks, padding in the hips, and what feels like dual-density armor in the knees. In a crouch, everything lines up great, but I'm not sure about knee puck placement. The velcro just barely touched the bottom of my knee- mostly it was on my shin.

Help! If they're good pants, I'm going back for them monday (closed sunday).

They look pretty good... from my experience with a First Gear mesh jacket, they make quality stuff... I don't like the armor in my jacket which is why I never wear it, but it's put together real nice...

Oh... and they may be an older model which is why they are not available on any of those websites...

After Googling them I think they may be women's pants... All the sites show up as Firstgear Pilot Pants Womens Sizes...

I have First Gear Pilot leather pants and wear them whenever I ride. They are more comfortable than jeans. But mine are four years old and look different from the ones in your picture. Mine have huge armor cups in the knee area. I don't have any knee pucks on mine. The only time I put my knee down on pavement is when I check the air pressure in the tires. I'll take some pictures of mine tomorrow.

Thanks for that- I was beginning to wonder if these things are for real.

Sparkies would be fun- long as they don't have giant smiley faces

The first picture is how the First Gear Pilot pants fit me. I'm a 34 inch waist. The second picture is me on the bike. The zipper above the knee is to take out the armor. The white triangle on my thigh is reflective material. Since I use lace-up boots, I zip the legs over my boots.

Those look different. The ones I saw have textile at the back of the knees, and partway up the leg. They were a much better feel than the too-small textiles I tried on, even if they are a bit looser than yours. I'll zip over there after work tomorrow and buy them. I'll wear my moto boots too and see how they feel- just have to see if my shoes will tuck in my backpack.

Mine have a triangular patch of stretchy material behind the knee. Did you get the pants?

Yep- got 'em. They feel good on the bike, but need broken in. With any luck, I can do that this weekend.
