Shoei sizes

i just placed a bid on a shoei and it looks like i'll win it @ less than $40. don't know the model but its made for suzuki (doesn't look like the rf1000's that are currently being offered for suzuki). but i had to place a bid cuz its a red suzuki w/ the same graphic design as my bike and well, its cheap!

but the size is a large, which is the size i wear for my hjc. but the shoei owner says it fits 7 3/8 -7 1/2 head size, and looking at my fitted baseball cap, it says 7 3/4!

but if it doesn't fit, i'll just use it as a passenger helmet, which i need too. anyone have a shoei large and are able to compare it to other brands' sizes especially hjc?

thanks!

would ALL shoei models fit the same sizes (or hjc for that matter)? bc going by what you said, the one i bid on should be too big?

No, different modles are shaped different, so you may be alright.

you really need to try on helmets to make sure they fit fine, as said before they make different models not for different quality, but for different shaped heads.

yea it was a last minute thing on ebay. i just stumbled upon it. i don't even know what model it is. but like i said, for that price i can make it a passenger lid if it doesn't fit.

Yeah, I feel ya, I did a search and it showed more junky helmet intercoms than anything else!

I have a buddy who does the custom paint jobs dirt cheap, so I figure I can go used or ugly on a helmet as long as it had good padding and protects and just let him do his thing on it! Maby even let him do the bike since he's comparable to straight paint prices and includes the helmets free!

i never thought about that. i have a friend who is a graffiti artist and he uses every kind of paint imaginable down to those paint markers. he did a good job on my skate board. im not sure what kind of protectant he would use on a helmet to keep it from fading or getting chipped...
