520 vs 525

Well am getting ready to buy a new sprocket i believe the kid i bought the bike dropped one tooth in the rear i was actual looking to go up 1 tooth in the rear.. well 1st should i just get a new chain with the sprocket and/or if just changing the rear sprocket how can i tell the difference between a 520 chain and a 525

Do it all at once or you will accelerate rate or wear.

520 will show more whp and theoretically will accelerate faster because of the less rotating weight. I'd go 520

It should be stamped on it somewhere.

If not then just measure: If the roller length is 1/4" then its a 520. If roller length is 3/16" then its a 525.

Its the pitch of the chain, Should looks just smaller its easy to tell by looking at one then the other or if you've worked around chains a lot just a feel for it.

yep, inner edge of the inner sideplates. That will be the same as the roller length.

Get it all at once! n go up 2 (same as down 1 in the front but less wear) in the rear!! 525 will wear a lil slower due to the added strength but weighs a little more!
