Need help finding a good leather jacket

I just started riding last spring and have been riding without any type of motorcycle jacket. Its time to buy a leather jacket and I was looking for any recommendations on a leather jacket. I dont want to spend $500 but I def dont want a cheap jacket either. Also need some recommendations on gloves. Not sure which brands are worth the money and which ones are.
I appreciate your help!

I have Alpinestars gear (boot, leather jacket, leather pants, and gloves) and I love them!

My husband is still wearing his Alpinestars two piece suit that he wrecking in at the track. They held up really well.

As far as cheaper leather gears go, I recommend Fieldsheer. Their leathers tend to be on the thicker side and they also usually equip their jackets with CE-approved armors in elbows, shoulders AND back. Most other jackets, you have to pay extra for the CE armor in the back, if at all.

I like Alpinestars Jackets and pants (I have the Spinner jacket and Track pants). Their gloves are nice, but most of them run too small and don't fit me right. Icon has some recent jackets that look good and feel tough. Joe Rocket is pretty good, and so is Shift. I know I'm leaving a lot out, but you really need to find what fits you.

Check www.newenough.com and www.motorcycle-superstore.com for some good deals and good service.

I normally prefer Joe Rocket Leather jackets, great quality and they have some nice designs. If you're into replica team jackets they have Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha jackets.

You might go to several shops and try on different types and brands of gear then do some research to see how the ratings stack up. Sizing is not consistant between brands and you might be interested in features offered in one or the other. Ventilation, removable liners, types of pockets, armor types, attachment zippers to attach pants, thickness of or types of materials. The assembly quality
all can make the difference in price and durability.

Dianese, Revit, FirstGear, Tourmaster, Fieldsheer, Rocket, Icon, Teknic etc etc lots to choose from.
