Leather Pants and boots question...

So I am planning a trip to deals gap (Tail of the dragon) this spring. It will be my 4th trip down, and my lovely GF has decided to bless me with a leather suit for my birthday!! Im stuck between either a one piece or a 2 piece. I don't do track days, I just stick to curvy road trips and Deals Gap trips. I have yet to drage a knee nor have I really tried to due to not having the correct gear. I have been riding since 2006 and consider myself a compitant rider, yet still learning. I was wondering what you guys out there thought would be the best bang for my (her) buck considering my riding style. I was also looking into getting a pair of boots since I have heard that you need boots to keep the bottoms of the pants tucked in. I currently have a pair of Icon Super Duty 2 boots, but was looking at the racing boots to obtain. I have also seen a mid-rise racing boot that caught my eye, but was unsure if anyone has worn these with a suit or has heard any reviews along those lines. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
