Fuel pump not turning off

When I turn off my bike (01 zx7r), I hear noise coming from the fuel pump. The only way I can get it to shut off is by disconnecting the battery. Do I need a new pump or is it a wiring problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm. Tricky. I'd check your connections first. Hopefully that will take care of it.

I'll assume it's a fuel pump for carbs. I too would check the wire connections going to the fuel pump and relay. I would also check the wires for frays or if it's being pinched to cause a ground. Like when a car horn won't shut off, the relay or fuel pump may have a ground ahead of the ignition switch. No fuse will blow on a ground, because the running pump prevents excess current flow.

It may just be the relay too.
