Uphill Rattle... umm Battle.

Well as some of you know, i live in hawaii and there are alot of hills here. There is a particularly steep one on the way to work. everytime i go up this hill, I hear a rattling sound. if i close the throttle a little it goeas away, but then when i open her up again it rattles. is this just because the tiny 250 engine is pulling my 190 pound ass up a hill?

I think he's talking about sheer volume. Of the 410 new posts when I logged in this morning, 186 of them were in the new "Post Hole"

i want a touch screen!! i will check with hubby and see if my old 250 ever rattled when his 200 lb butt was trucking around on it...

mmm, i wonder tho, perhaps you have it in the wrong gear, like with a car, if you are trying to start from 3-5th gear?? I know on the few tall bridges I had to go over on my 250 I had to downshift normally down to 3rd or 2nd in traffic in order to keep it from wanting to stall...

that's a good point, watch your RPM's when you hear that sound and compare it to what you usually cruise at. Report back to us.

There's a thought.

It could be what Gas suggested too. Could be your valves cranking hard and maybe the oil isn't being ciculated as good as level ground.
