01 Tuning help required

Hi Guys

I've just joined. I'm based in Ireland.I currently have a very tricked out '94 Blade(details to follow at a later stage)My buddy has an 01 R1(carb model) in standard trim. He wishes to tune it. We're thinking of beefing up the spark via coils\leads\plugs i.e. dyna coils + taylor leads + iridium plugs
Also a dynojet kit + K&N filter
And finally a very loud end can that must also give some bhp increase.
When all is fitted we will dyno it to get it really smooth in terms of fuelling & throttling. Can anyone advise if we're going down the right road??

All advice & tips\tricks greatly appreciated.

Beefing up the ignition is a great idea. But for a Yamaha, I think that Ivan http://www.ivansperformanceproducts.com/ makes the best jet kits.

That sounds like a lot of nice parts and $$$ going bye bye.

Personally I would do the jet kit, BMC air filter, and a 520 coversion with some gear changing (-1 front & +2 rear)

Remember...

more power = less reliability

Its the trade off

None of his listed mods will effect reliability.
