GPR Stabilizer ?

Hopefully can answer this for me real quick.

I have the GPR Stabilizer mount for my R1, however I need the stabilizer itself. There is a guy selling one up the street from me that has one brand new just taken out of the package. He has the mount with it, but I told him I just need the stabilizer. He wrote me back and said $150 just for the stabilizer so I wrote him back and told him good deal.

Apparently the mount was for a 05 06 Kawi ZX10.... this shouldn't matter should it? Will the stabalizer still fit on my R1 mount?

I believe it will, and for $150 brand new this is a hellofa deal.

Yes, the stabilizer should still fit. Think of the mount as an adapter plate. The stabilizer is universal, the mount is how you fit it to a specific bike.

That's what I thought also, however when I was doing some research on gpr's website I noticed they make a V1 and a V2.... so different versions for the way the pin/stem works on the mount.

Probably has something to do with the year it was made. I'd say your best bet, if you want to be absolutely certain before dropping the cash, would be to contact GPR. Give them the year of your bike and the year of his. Or, you could always just go down the road to the dude, ask him to see if the stabilizer fits on the bracket that you have, and if so, then buy it.

First I've heard of that problem. I imagine there were other circumstances that caused a leak.

He claims the stabalizer was never used or mounted to a bike. So I wouldn't think it would be leaking any fluid.

The guy lives about 2 hours away so it would cost me too much gas money to drive up his way. I think my best bet would be to buy it for $150 and if it doesn't fit then I could sell it on ebay and make a lot of extra money out of it since they go for about $350-$400 on ebay.

No, it's only $5.00 to have it shipped from Altoona and I'd spend $30 in gas going up there.

I decided to buy it for $154.30 shipping included. If it doesn't fit on my mount or bike, I'll relist it on ebay and make a few hundred $ profit. Hopefully it all works out and helps the headshake on the R1.

I'll find out when it gets here. I see the V2 is bike specific now, where the V1 was very interchangable.
